Tales from the Table 4

We were playing D20, Pathfinder to be specific. Our DM was running us through the Way of the Wicked campaign. The campaign itself is a fun concept, you play as the villains. Your characters start off in prison for various crimes, and all end up in the same cell. They are contacted by a mysterious benefactor who provides some assistance for them to escape. Our party consisted of a male Half-Orc barbarian, two female Human fighters, a female human rogue, a male Vishkanya (snake person) rogue, and a female human Witch/Warlock (The eldritch blast ones). The Last one is my character by the way. This was the final group, the party lineup changed in the first few sessions. The witch was a male soulbow (psionic shootey person) and the Vishkanya was a Ratfolk. Spoilers from here on out. We actually died the first time trying to break out of the prison. You never want to end up fighting the guards toe to toe. There are way too many more coming. We eventually managed to stealth and bluff our way out by killing out initial guards and disguising ourselves. We also managed to kill the warden on the way. He deserved it. We met our boss in the swamp, and barely passed his little test. Vampiric mist is a pain to fight when you have nothing that really hurts it. We ended up at a point where we were supposed to undermine the defenses of the city in any possible. We were supposed to neutralize the local keep, so the bugbear army could pour in and take the place out. We stumbled around town for a few days being utterly useless before we finally managed to find a secret passage into the keep. We kept stopping the innkeeper as he was looking for it, and then bluffing about why we were in his basement. Our rogues were stealthy enough to sneak up on him, but fighters in armor were not. We got rid of two captains by letting one know that the other was sleeping with his wife. A third captain was out on patrol. So here is our merry band sneaking into the basement of the keep, and eventually ending up in a hallway with four bedroom doors. They belonged to the captain on patrol, the two captains fighting over a terrible wife, and a fourth captain that we had no idea who (or where) he was. Guess which door our snake person rogue opened. . . Captain number 4 took down most of our party in two rounds, and his henchmen took out what was left. Two people escaped, with no hope of completing the mission. Yep, we are terrible villains :P
